A “supermoon” on March 19, 2011

Hey, everyone! You know what is a Supermoon? Have you heard anything about it?

According to what I had researched, a supermoon is the term coined by astrologer Richard Nolle that is being used to describe the moon as it circles around the Earth at a distance of 221,567 miles (356,577 kilometers). It will take place on March 19, 2011.

The moon, on this day, is believed to come closer to earth, more than it has in 18 years. Its closeness to earth may cause disasters. We'd all like to believe that the SuperMoon just makes for a surreal experience, a rare spectacle. But, it remains to be seen if it's indeed Supermoon or SuperDoom!

According to Nolle, when the moon reached super-extreme, the Earth will experience huge storms, earthquakes, volcanoes and other natural disasters. Studies of scientists revealed that the moon’s gravity can cause ebbs and flows in the continents, called “land tides” or “solid Earth tides.” High tides are at its peak during full and new moons. During this time, the sun and moon are aligned either on the same or opposite sides of the Earth.

So, what do you guys think about it, huh? Do you think the disasters that happened in Japan were related to this?

last day in Mayan calendar... creepy!

The text below is circulating in text messages and other networking sites.

Beware because

America, one of the richest and powerful countries, lost thousands of lives last 09-11-01.

Now,

Japan, one of the richest and wisest countries, lost thousands of lives last 03-10-11.

Add the dates.

   09-11-01
+  03-10-11
12-21-12 --> last day in Mayan calendar and in the 2012 movie.

Weird but scary, right?

Please, let us all pray for the victims of the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear blast in Japan.
Also, pray for all the people in other countries that are suffering right now. May God bless us all ^^

Summer, here we come!

It’s already March, isn’t it? ^^ Well, in other places, it’s just spring. But here in the Philippines, it’s summer time! So, do you already feel the summer breeze?

Anyway, I just discovered something while I was searching the net. Do you know that there are many superstitions about March? We often hear that "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb." This means that the first day of March is often stormy, and the last day is mild and warm. According to most farmers, if there is rain for the first 3 days of the month, this predicts a bad harvest later in the year. Could this be true? I heard that since yesterday, there was rainfall in most parts of the Philippines. Hmm, interesting, huh?

These are some other trivia about March that you might want to know:

- March is the third month of the year according to the Gregorian calendar, which is used in almost all parts of the world today. It was the first month on the early Roman calendar and was called Martius. Later, the ancient Romans made January 1 the beginning of the year, and March became the third month.
- March has always had 31 days. Its name honors Mars, the Roman god of war.
- The flower for March is the violet.
- Aquamarine is the birthstone for March.
- Magellan discovered the Philippines in March 1521.
- March 4 (first Friday of March) is the “World Day of Prayer.
- International Women's Day will fall on March 8.
- Lent Begins & Ash Wednesday on March 9.
