Hey, everyone! You know what is a Supermoon? Have you heard anything about it?
According to what I had researched, a supermoon is the term coined by astrologer Richard Nolle that is being used to describe the moon as it circles around the Earth at a distance of 221,567 miles (356,577 kilometers). It will take place on March 19, 2011 .
The moon, on this day, is believed to come closer to earth, more than it has in 18 years. Its closeness to earth may cause disasters. We'd all like to believe that the SuperMoon just makes for a surreal experience, a rare spectacle. But, it remains to be seen if it's indeed Supermoon or SuperDoom!
According to Nolle, when the moon reached super-extreme, the Earth will experience huge storms, earthquakes, volcanoes and other natural disasters. Studies of scientists revealed that the moon’s gravity can cause ebbs and flows in the continents, called “land tides” or “solid Earth tides.” High tides are at its peak during full and new moons. During this time, the sun and moon are aligned either on the same or opposite sides of the Earth.
So, what do you guys think about it, huh? Do you think the disasters that happened in Japan were related to this?
